About the Show

An American actor/comedian/producer Jamie Kennedy had a big dream - becoming a rapper. You know him in "Malibu's Most Wanted",which was a spin-off movie of his hidden camera show "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment (JKX)". He played a wannabe white rapper "B-Rad G" in that. But this time,it's time for him to fulfill his lifelong dream.......with his best friend Stu Stone.

"Jamie Kennedy's Blowin' Up" is MTV's new comedic reality show. It follows Jamie Kennedy and his sidekick Stu Stone as they attempt to fulfill their lifelong dream of Hip-Hop superstardom.

The duo set out on an unstoppable and brilliantly funny mission to take on the music industry by storm. Driven by their own original music, which they write, record and perform together, Jamie and Stu knock on every door, meeting with top music executives and seeking advice from Hip-Hop's biggest stars, only to discover that while rappers have no problem breaking into acting, it isn't so simple the other way around. Throughout their journey, Jamie and Stu encounter Three 6 Mafia, Jason Biggs, Russell Simmons, Bow Wow, Bob Saget, Paul Wall, George Lucas, Ice-T, Mena Suvari, DJ AM, Tara Reid, Method Man, Mike Jones, Ed McMahon and other celebrity talent.

Blowin' Up will air Tuesday nights at 10:30 (ET/PT), and then will run many more times during the week across MTV platforms. The show can also be downloaded through ITunes.

The goal in their dream is to get a record deal. Let's see if they can and enjoy their hip-hop journey!!

Fullname:Stuart Stone
Nickname:"Stu the Jew"
Birthday:????.11.17 (November 17,????)
Height:5' 7" (170 cm)
Sign:Scorpio (星座:さそり座)

After a career as a child actor in his native Toronto, Stu Stone headed to the U.S. to star in the hit indie film Donnie Darko. It was at the Sundance premiere of this movie that Stone discovered his hidden talent. When the projector broke down, Stu jumped onstage and started freestyle rapping in character as "Stu the Jew." His rap debut was so well received that Stu got the idea to pursue a professional career in hip-hop. While later working on the animated series Da Mob, Stone met Jamie Kennedy, another actor with a not-so-secret desire to rap. They decided to pool their resources and talents and chase the dream of Blowin' Up together. (Quoted from "Blowin' Up" official site)

At first the guys are excited that they're a hit with the crowd, but then realize they're never going to have any street cred if the only audience that appreciates them is 13 year-old white kids. The next day, while in the make-up chair for his role in the new film "Hood Love," Jamie is completely transformed into an African-American man. The star of the film, Tracey Morgan, talks to Jamie as he's being transformed and tells Jamie that if he ever really wants to go Platinum in hip-hop, he's going to need to get shot, lose a kidney, or get a girl pregnant. He convinces Jamie to go out into the world as a black man to earn the respect of the hip-hop "gated community." Jamie calls his friends in Three 6 Mafia, who agree to let Jamie and Stu perform as their opening act in Long Beach. Stu - who is also in disguise as a black man and looks amazingly like Tito Jackson - demands "What's going to stop them from killing us!" Jamie says Stu will feel better if they try the disguises out first, so they follow Jason Biggs into a coffee shop and chase him out, yelling "Get out of here, Pie #$%@er!" At the concert, they meet Three 6 Mafia, who are amazed by the makeup that the guys are in, but still think they're going to get their a*ses kicked. When Jamie and Stu take the stage in costume, they are loudly booed, until the audience response forces the guys offstage. Once the make-up is off, Stu convinces Jamie to go onstage again as a white man. This time - the crowd loves them. Stu thinks Jamie is trying to show off for them to win their approval. Jamie denies this and says that they can help out with the video. The boys meet Jamie's parents at their hotel and explain that the video will be based on the song "Rolling with Saget." Mom and Dad love Saget! Maybe a little too much... But when they aren't raving about Bob, they're helping Jamie audition "Booty Girls" for the video. Finally, the day of the big video shoot arrives and Jamie and Stu are psyched! They can't believe what a big production this is turning out to be, courtesy of producer Dave Meyer. Then the star of the video arrives: Bob Saget. Jamie's parents fawn over Saget and Jamie's jealousy returns full force. Soon, the director calls, "Action!" and the video shoot is underway. George Lucas shows up for a surprise cameo and Jamie's dad pulls him aside and shares some of his theories about aliens. Later, Tara Reid and John Stamos both show up for cameo appearances. Through it all, Saget keeps poking fun at Jamie, pointing out that Jamie's parents seem to like him better than Jamie. Jamie tries to laugh this off, but it's starting to get to him. Finally, Jamie and Stu decide to confront Saget. They ask him to stop making so many jokes at their expense. Soon, the boys and Saget are bonding as they rap together on camera and perform the video's big show-stopping finale. After the rap is a wrap, Saget jokingly flirts with Jamie's mom and gets her cell phone number as Jamie looks on in disbelief. Once again, Saget gets the last laugh.

Guest Appearances

Episode 7 - "The Break Up" (aka "Starting Over") (Air Date:June 30,2006)
Jamie's manager Pam tells him he needs to stay focused because she's got them a gig on the Jimmy Kimmel Show in a few days. It seems like they're finally going to blow up. Later that same morning, Jamie and Stu head to the valley for an interview and photo shoot with a local magazine, the "Studio City Shopper." Things get tense when Stu is overshadowed by Jamie, and pushed into the background of the interview and the photos. To ease the tension, Jamie says he's going to take Stu for "counseling".

Episode 8 - "Deal With It" (aka "Getting Signed") (Air Date:July 7,2006 - SEASON 1 FINAL!!)
Following their successful performance on Jimmy Kimmel, the guys are flooded with calls, e-mails and faxes. It seems their dream of getting a deal is finally coming true, but now they wonder: Should they sign with a label or launch themselves as an independent act? They need someone to give them some advice. Sorting through their new fan mail, Stu finds a copy of a Vibe Magazine - in it is a Rocawear ad that actually includes a photo of Jamie and Stu! Now Jamie and Stu have a plan: They are going to fly to New York to meet with Jay-Z (after all, he owes them after using their photos in his ad,) and Jay-Z can give them the career advice they need. But as soon as they walk in the front door of Def Jam, they walk right back out. They were turned away by Security. Now walking the streets of New York pissed off, Jamie calls his manager Pam who saves the day by getting the guys a meeting with Russell Simmons. But Russell thinks the meeting is about Phat Farm clothes, not about the music business. He tells Jamie that he has no intention of signing the duo. His advice: "Smile and breathe." Just when the New York trip seems like a waste, they join Heather B for dinner, who tells them she'll arrange a meeting with DJ Premiere. Premiere likes the guys and their music, and offers to cut a track for them - a major victory. Back in LA, the pressure is on to decide who they're going to sign with, or if they'll be signing with anyone. They make a decision to make a decision. In the meantime, they plan a huge star-studded party in Las Vegas to make the official announcement.

Billboard Review

From Billboard.com:

While comedic rap has been around since the Beastie Boys first fought for our right to party in the mid-'80s, it seems as if we've entered into a kind of golden age of "white-boy" rappers who rap it like they mean it, even if their raps are more Beck than Big Daddy Kane. Enter Jamie Kennedy. Best known for his role in the 1996 horror film Scream, Kennedy is an actor and stand-up comic and, as his 2006 pseudo-reality MTV show Blowin' Up would have you believe, a serious rap artist. Along with his musical partner Stu Stone, Kennedy spent most of Blowin' Up doing just about everything except what the show's title implied -- making it big in the rap world. Instead, the duo found themselves in such embarrassingly comedic situations as attempting to surreptitiously give rap icon-turned-actor Ice-T their demo tape while Kennedy filmed a role on Law and Order: SVU as well as meeting with Joe Simpson -- father/manager of Jessica and Ashlee -- where Kennedy played him a song about how he really likes his ex-girlfriend's left breast. Okay, so Kennedy is a not-so-serious rapper, but he does seem to take the music seriously, as is evidenced by such guest artists on Blowin' Up as Canadian rapper Kardinal Offishall, E-40, and the deliciously respectable Paul Wall who helps out with what is perhaps the album's best moment, the commercial jingle for the mattress superstore "Mattress Mack." Notably, in this episode, Kennedy and Stone have to shoot the commercial wearing mattress costumes. It's not only a funny cut, but a funky one that makes the most of Wall's "sizzeruppy" Southern-style rap. Elsewhere, Kennedy and Stone showcase their knack for picking out specific details that add a sense of truth to their jokes as on the send-up of '80s style "1984" which features such cringe-inducing lines as, "1984 lying in the grass first time I ever got some ass. Pop Rock in my mouth, wanna go down south, but the Whopper in my stomach really gave me gas" and, "Listen crazy muthaf*cker, let's skip class. I got a fresh pack of Hubba Bubba Berry Blast. I got money to kill and ass to burn, Drakkar Noir and a salon perm." What's so great about the track is that while the lines are funny, Kennedy and Stone play it straight, which only serves to make the joke funnier. In that sense, Blowin' Up is similar to "Lazy Sunday" and the other SNL raps perpetrated by Chris Parnell and Andy Samberg. Admittedly, while still humorous, some of the tracks here are a little too easy and juvenile, as on "Crooked Stick" in which Kennedy expounds upon his deformed appendage. Similarly, "Bologna" featuring Kennedy as the gay rapper "Blane" is, while silly, stupidly offensive. However, tracks like "Rollin' w/Saget" in which milquetoast comedian Bob Saget raps about being a "blunt" smoking badass, and "Knuckle Up" in which Kennedy and Stone call out young-Hollywood hipsters like Ashton Kutcher and Colin Farrell as "bitch-ass waiters" and viciously rap, "I need a coffee make it quick. I don't need to see your headshot, you ain't legit. I don't need to read your screenplay it reads like sh*t" are devastatingly funny and fall just shy of keen social satire. ~ Matt Collar, All Music Guide
